Economic Development

Economic development can be defined as "a sustained community effort to improve both the local economy and the quality of life by building the area's capacity to adapt to economic change." Ceres is committed to doing all it can to improve the local economy and enhance the quality of life for all Ceres citizens and visitors.

Engineering Division

The primary function of the Engineering Division is to promote the orderly development of the City by providing general engineering services to regulate the construction of municipal structures, city streets, sewage disposal, water supply and storm drainage facilities.

Finance

The Finance Department insures prudent financial management of the City's resources. These responsibilities include administration, general accounting, accounts payable, payroll, budget preparation, and a variety of customer service activities including business license management and utility billing administration.

Fire

In addition to providing fire protection and emergency medical services (EMS) the Ceres Fire Department also provides specialized services such as fire suppression, emergency medical responses, hazardous materials mitigation, technical rescue fire investigations, public education and fire prevention.

Human Resources

The Human Resources Department prides itself on its service to citizens, job applicants, and internal customers.

Community Development

Office hours: 8:30am - 4:30pm. Building Division open primarily Tuesdays through Fridays, with limited service on Mondays.

Police Department

The Ceres Police Department proudly serves the City of Ceres, which is located in Stanislaus County in the San Joaquin Valley of Northern California.

Public Works

The City of Ceres Public Works Department includes the Facilities, Fleet, Landscape (Parks), Water, Wastewater, Streets, Recreation, and Solid Waste Divisions. Water Conservation and Storm Water programs are also facilitated under Public Works.

Recreation Department

The Ceres Recreation Division supports the mission that Parks (and Recreation) Make Life Better!
