Overview

The Planning Commission considers land use matters such as zone changes, conditional use permits, variances, subdivisions and general plan amendments. The Commission is a permanent advisory committee of five citizens appointed by the Mayor and subject to confirmation by the City Council. Members serve four-year, staggered terms. To be eligible to serve on the commission, one must be a resident within the city limits of the City of Ceres.

Responsibilities

Hold public hearings and review development applications
Make recommendations to City Council on the General Plan, major planning studies, master plans, municipal code amendments, zoning changes, environmental studies and analysis
Perform architectural and site plan review to ensure new developments' integration into the existing and planned community fabric
